Premium Processing Now Available For F, M & J Change of Status Applications

USCIS has announced changes to premium processing for certain student and exchange visa applications.

Under the new rules, applicants seeking to change status to F-1, F-2, M-1, M-2, J-1 or J-2 on Form I-539 will be eligible to request premium processing.

From June 13, 2023, Form I-907 premium processing requests will be accepted for applicants with a pending Form I-539 application to change into F, M, or J status.

From June 26, 2023, premium processing requests will be accepted from those seeking to change into F, M, or J status when their Form I-907 is filed concurrently with the Form I-539 application.

Premium processing offers processing within a 30-calendar day timeframe after USCIS receives all necessary documents and biometrics for the adjudication.

When requesting premium processing, form I-907 must be submitted in the same way as the form I-539 was filed, ie either online or in paper form.

The cost to file Form I-907 with premium processing is $1,750.
